License terms
The Spousal Support System™ Professional License
Effective September 19, 2026
1.Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Flannel People Mediation (“Flannel,” “we”) for The Spousal Support System™ Professional License (the “System”): the hosted spousal support worksheet, the practitioner guide, and everything delivered with them.
By paying for a license, or by opening the System with a license link, you agree to these terms.
2.What the System is, and what it is not
The System is a psychological tool for structuring a conversation about spousal support. It works with anchoring, the tendency of the first number people see to pull every later number toward it. Its figures are reference points taken from other states’ published formulas.
The System does not show what a Minnesota court, any other court, or any judge or judicial officer would order. It does not predict an outcome, recommend an amount, or evaluate anyone’s legal position. It is not legal advice, financial advice, or tax advice, to you or to anyone you use it with, and using it creates no attorney-client or other professional relationship with Flannel.
3.Your license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the System for as long as your license is paid and in good standing. One license covers one practitioner.
You may run the System with your own clients, with you present, in a session or on a shared screen. There is no limit on the number of clients or cases.
4.What you may not do
- Give your license link to anyone else, including clients and colleagues.
- Let a client use the System on their own, without you running it.
- Embed, frame, host, copy, or republish the System or the guide, on a website or anywhere else.
- Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or make a derivative version of the software, the method, or the content.
- Present the System’s figures to anyone as a legal answer, an entitlement, or a prediction of what a court would do.
5.Your professional judgment
You are responsible for how you use the System and for your own professional obligations, including any rules of your license, credential, or profession. Your clients make their own decisions, and legal questions belong with their attorneys.
6.Ownership
The software, the method, the guide, the name The Spousal Support System™, and all related content belong to Flannel People Mediation. Your license gives you the right to use them under these terms and nothing more. You do not receive source code.
7.Fees and renewal
The license is $2,500 a year or $250 a month, paid in advance. Before each period ends we send a renewal invoice; paying it continues your license and extends your link. You can cancel anytime by telling us or by not paying the renewal, and your access continues through the end of the period you already paid for.
When a paid period ends without renewal, your license link stops working. We may change the price for future periods with at least 30 days’ notice by email, except that each of the first 10 licenses sold keeps the price it was bought at for as long as it renews without a gap (the “founding price lock”).
8.Refunds
You may request a refund within 14 days of a payment by emailing flannelpeoplemediation@gmail.com. After 14 days, payments are not refundable, including for partial periods.
9.Support and updates
Email flannelpeoplemediation@gmail.com when something looks wrong and we’ll fix it. We update the System as we see fit, including re-checking each state’s formula against its statute, and may change or retire features.
10.No warranty
The System is provided “as is.” We work to keep it accurate and available but do not guarantee that it is error-free, uninterrupted, or current with every change in any state’s law.
11.Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Flannel is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any outcome of a negotiation, mediation, agreement, or case in which the System was used. Our total liability for any claim about the System is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
12.Ending the license
We may suspend or end your license if you break these terms, with a pro-rated refund of any unused prepaid period unless the breach was sharing or republishing the System. Sections 2, 4, 6, 10, 11 and 13 survive the end of your license.
13.General
Minnesota law governs these terms, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts in Ramsey County, Minnesota. We may update these terms; changes apply to your next billing period, and we’ll email you about any material change first. Questions: flannelpeoplemediation@gmail.com.
